Is getting a perm visa in Vietnam also such a pain in the butt as inThailand? Btw…i hear the Viets dont like Chinese….my gf is Chinese…lol. she tells me vietnam people " not nice" to Chinese. Airfare from Europe definately is cheaper to Thailand…tell you that.

I live in Ratchaburi in Thailand and the papayas are faaaaaar from crap. Same with avocados. And it's super cheap. But the thing is the climate in Ratchaburi is different from Chiang mai. It's roughly the same latitude as Saigon.

In the US, a much smaller avocado costs USD 0.99 and a bigger one like that will cost about USD 3; one pineapple alone costs USD 2.99 and one papaya costs about USD 4, and one baguette costs USD 1 (one). I calculated the cost for all the fruits on the table is about AUD 19, which is about USD 13.5 but it will cost USD 60 total in the US. Wow! It's super duper cheap in Vietnam.

OMG! Are you serious? Five (5) white dragon fruits cost only AUD 1 (about USD 0.70)!!!!! One dragon fruit (about the same size) in the US, costs about USD 6 (six).Wow! Vietnam is truly a shopping paradise and food haven, especially for vegans.
