    thii-nai or nai both means "where". thii means "place". if you're asking where is some physical place/object you can use "thii-nai". but i think in spoken we usually drop as many words as possible. so if i wanted to ask my friend where he is i would say "yuu nai" (at where?) rather then yuu thii-nai (at place where?)
